Honda Link Vehicle App
Streamlining vehicle orientation and feature discovery.
Enhancing Vehicle Feature Discovery and Ownership
The HondaLink app exemplifies a user-centered design approach, grounded in extensive research and iterative prototyping. The team employed a wide range of design research methods, including user interviews, ethnographic studies, and competitive analysis, to gain a deep understanding of the needs of modern drivers and their relationship with connected vehicles. Honda had data showing that owners struggled to understand various vehicle features, and as a result, many were underutilized or never used.
Insights from this research directly informed the app’s intuitive interface and feature set, which seamlessly integrates remote vehicle control, service scheduling, and real-time diagnostics, as well as feature discovery and explanations. The process ranged from design research to concept sketching through to clickable prototypes and ultimately to a complete app and vehicle control experience.
This approach ensured that each design decision was validated through user testing and aligned with Honda’s brand values. The result is a polished, future-forward experience that enhances the driver’s connection to their vehicle.
